Hot on the heels of the clever and creative teaser trailers for The Muppets, comes the first full trailer. Despite this trailer making me think the film’s gonna be a little bit on the light side, I’m sure Disney won’t let this Muppet reboot forget its proud heritage of appealing to young and old alike. I’m excited to see the whole gang returning to the big screen, but does anyone know what the film’s actually about?

This full trailer is unfortunately nowhere near as clever or creative as the teasers, which is a shame. However, the biggest disappointment is that it doesn’t really tell you anything about what the story’s going to be. You can see that it’s about getting the gang back together, but why? Come on Disney, stop teasing us already!

There are some great moments in the trailer though; my favourite parts being Fozzie’s ‘Fart Shoes’ and ‘Manamana’ (classic!).

Enjoy!

Fortunately, after a quick search of the interweb I did manage to find the full plot outline, so here it is:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways.

The Muppets stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper. The film also features a star-studded list of cameo performances from the likes of:  Zach GalifianakisEd HelmsSelena GomezEmily Blunt, Jack BlackNeil Patrick HarrisJohn Krasinski,Danny TrejoKaty PerryRicky GervaisWhoopi GoldbergBilly Crystal and Dave Grohl.

The Muppets is due for release in the US on 23 November and will be out in New Zealand on 1 January, 2012.

Here’s one of the great teaser trailers we haven’t featured yet, which parodies the recent Warner Bros blockbuster Green Lantern (although, for me, the first Green with Envy Teaser Trailer is still the best)

So what do you think of the full trailer? And are you glad to see the gang back together again?
