It’s been quite the few days for vertigo-inducing movie posters. First we had the very cool poster for Man on a Ledge, now Tom Cruise is doing his best ‘Man stuck to the side of the world’s tallest building’ impersonation in the new Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol poster.

Cruise, as we know, is back as Ethan ‘Super Agent’ Hunt. And this new poster, specifically designed for the IMAX release of the film, shows Ethan clinging to the side of the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai – which is indeed the world’s tallest building. This stunt, and Hunt’s incredibly clingy gloves, were first seen in the teaser trailer released a few months back (click here).

I have to say, the Man on a Ledge poster (seen here) is the better of the two for me, with the slightly distorted image making me feel a little more nauseous – in the best possible way of course . However, this is a pretty cool poster and much more inspired than the flat imagery Hollywood has been churning out for its recent blockbusters.

In the US , Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol arrives in IMAX cinemas a week early, on December 16, before its general release on December 21. New Zealand, however, gets a full cinematic release even earlier, on December 15 – superb!

What do you think of the poster? Are you excited for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol?

Directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and produced by J.J. Abrams (Super 8, Star Trek), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg (Paul, Shaun of the Dead), Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker), Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton), Paula Patton (Mirrors), Josh Holloway (TV’s Lost), Lea Seydoux (Robin Hood), Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), and Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire).
