It’s here! It’s here! The cooler than cool poster for the new Wes Anderson: Moonrise Kingdom. This comes a few months after the trailer for the film, which might just be one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Ever.
Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness, and how their peaceful island community reacts to their disappearance.
Anderson really is the master of creating small and magical worlds that are inhabited by awesome, quirky characters. And look at this poster – it’s perfect! It’s fittingly picturesque with a sinister edge! The 60s painting colour palette, the custom font designed by Jessica Hische, the gun, the suitcase, the expressions! These kids seriously mean business.
While we don’t have a release date yet, we know we’ll get to go to Moonrise Kingdom sometime this year..
