Talk about a match made in movie heaven. Johnny Depp has been confirmed to star in Wes Anderson‘s next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. There are no further details but if you’re a Wes Anderson or Johnny Depp fan, you should be pretty excited right about now. This will be Depp’s next shoot, after he finishes up with Disney’s The Lone Ranger. Johnny was due to re-team with Rob Marshall on The Thin Man later in the year, but that project has stalled.
Anderson is known for his ensemble casts. Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Angela Lansbury and Willem Dafoe are also candidates for the new film – with Murray and Wilson pretty much a given.
For The Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes will reunite with his long-time collaborator Scott Rudin and Indian Paintbrush – the team behind Anderson’s latest indie hit Moonrise Kingdom. And if all that wasn’t exciting enough, this new film will see Wes shoot in Europe for the first time in his career. Can’t wait to find out what the actual plot will be.
