“How much do you know about fear?” After watching Quantum of Solace, a fair bit I expect. Well fear not, if there were any doubts about Sam Mendes (American Beauty) being able to resurrect Bond after that disaster, you can put those to rest after watching this incredible new Skyfall trailer.

Here we are introduced to a bit more of the story. It looks like M (Judi Dench) has screwed up royally and has to put 007 (Daniel Craig) out of commission – at least as far as the rest of the world’s concerned. But it’s not quite as simple for M. Trouble’s a-brewin’ and Bond must come back from the dead in order to save her, and his country, from the clutches of the blast-from-M’s-past: charismatic baddie Silva (Javier Bardem).

It’s our first real look at Bardem’s villain and we also get treated to our first footage of Ben Whishaw as Q – an amusing little exchange with 007. Silva’s diabolical plan is still under wraps but whatever he has in mind, it will certainly bring the very best out of Bond. Check this out:

Now that looks like a Bond film!  An action-packed adventure with Bond at his suave, pistol-wielding best. But it’s the little touches that really make this special: Bond adjusting his cuff mid–action, 007’s cheeky wink (see if you can spot it)… brilliant stuff! November can’t come soon enough.

In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
