It’s hard to believe the Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill, is finally happening, some 8 years after the original took theatres by storm. Over the weekend, co-director Robert Rodriguez tweeted a couple of photos to remind fans that they should indeed be getting excited.

The images feature Josh Brolin on the set – both pre and post visual effects. Brolin is Dwight, a character played by Clive Owen in the original, and he looks right at home, sporting a suitably sullen Sin City scowl in this very cool shot.

@Rodriquez: Here’s bad ass Josh Brolin driving a Rodriguez-mobile. (A green box with a steering wheel bolted on)

@Rodriquez: And here’s a quick photo touch up I do to set a tone for the actors. (Probably won’t be raining in final movie)

The New Zealand release date is set for 3 October.
