The Jackass crew are back with the first trailer for their new film, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. And this outing has a script…well, sorta.

86 year-old Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy (Jackson Nicholl). This bare-bones plot is essentially a set up for real-life pranks on poor unsuspecting folks – a tried and true formula which works brilliantly for them yet again.

Director Jeff Tremaine returns but we are still unsure if Jackass regulars Steve-O, Party Boy, Bam Margera and the like will make cameos – although it is rumoured Bam’s father Phil will make an appearance.

No release date for New Zealand yet but, based on this evidence, folks will be lining up when it arrives. Bad Grandpa opens 25 October in the US.

You’d think this sort of thing would be stale by now, and I’d have grown up a little since Jackass first arrived, but no…this had me cracking up.

The Grandpa character is signature Knoxville and he pulls it off to perfection here – proving once again that old folks can get away with just about anything.

The pranks are well set up and the whole thing has a bit of a Borat-slash-Bruno feel – but still Jackass at heart. There are some genuinely shocking, but laugh-out-loud, moments – the stripper skit is outstandingly outrageous.

These guys love what they do and long may that continue!
