Behind the Candelabra CRR

Based on lover Scott Thorson’ memoir, this biopic looks at final years of flamboyant entertainer Liberace – from his sparkingly performances, to his hedonistic partying and five-year affair with the impressionable, young Thorson.

Got to see this brilliantly acted, highly entertaining drama at NZIFF. Rob Lowe’s cameo is worth the price of admission alone.

Planes CRR

A crop-dusting plane called Dusty dreams of competing in the Wings Across the World race. The only problems: he’s not built for speed and has fear of heights. But with a little help from some friends (both old and new) he might just show the world he has the right stuff.

Aside from it being an obvious Cars cash-in, let’s hope this rises above its straight-to-DVD beginnings.
