“Let them fight.”

Godzilla stomps into cinemas very soon and in this new “Asia Trailer” we are treated to the most exciting and revealing look at the reboot…and it’s legendary star.

We now know that Godzilla is unleashed by the US Government to fight an equally impressive winged beast they inadvertently set free, after keeping it under wraps for years. Cue a monsterous showdown of epic proportions.

After receiving critical acclaim for the indie hit Monsters, director Gareth Edwards was handed the chance to reboot the most iconic Kaiju of all time. And by the looks of things Edwards will finally give us the Godzilla experience we’ve been craving for years.

Godzilla opens 15 May.

After this trailer launched, Godzilla was heavily criticised for being too big and chubby. But I really like the new look, and his impressive stature makes me even more excited from the final showdown – it’s gonna be carnage!

From a human perspective, Cranston steals the show. He has some impressive emotional scenes – even more impressive given the genre.

Early reports are that this film focusses more on the human story than Godzilla himself – a formula that worked incredibly well for Edwards in Monsters.

I can’t wait for this and will be interrupting my Cannes feast to go see it at a local French cinema.
