With so many blockbusters in 2012 we’ve been, and will continue to be, bombarded with movie promo. Some amazing stuff has been put out there from the likes of Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises, which made the first trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man feel a bit ‘meh’ by comparison. But this third and possibly final trailer raises the stakes considerably. I really want to see this now.
One could argue this film is still an unnecessary reboot. But one could also argue it’s here to wash away the sin that was Spiderman 3. Whatever the case, it looks like we’re in for a brand new (-ish) and much darker story – far from your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, that’s for sure. This time out Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is searching for what happened to his parents, who disappeared when he was young. Be careful Peter, you might not like what you find…
Enjoy!
There’s fast and furious action, a smattering of well-placed humour, a tone that’s nice and dark, and both the characters and storyline appear quite interesting. Ladies and Gentlemen, this film has substance! And I’m really liking Ifans’ The Lizard. He looks badass (we are so overusing that word at the moment!).
I would probably go and see The Amazing Spider-Man regardless, simply because I’m a fan of both Andrew Garfield and the delightful Emma Stone. But now I’m thinking this should be a ‘must watch’ on opening night.
Has the new trailer got you thinking about seeing this incarnation on opening night?
Directed by Marc Webb, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
The Amazing Spider-Man slings its way into our theatres on June 28, 2012 – a whole week before the US and UK!
