You might not want to see any more promo for The Dark Knight Rises, with the film just a week away. But if your inner TDKR junkie needs a final fix, here’s a new, and (relatively) spoiler-free, featurette. It provides interesting behind-the-scenes insight, interspersed with imagery from all of the promo to date. But be warned, at thirteen minutes long it’s fairly detailed. If you haven’t seen much of the promo, it might be best to avoid this.
The featurette takes us through the basic story arc and we gain some further insight into the various characters’ motivations from the actors themselves. But in the best bits we see the lengths Christopher Nolan goes to in order to make the film as real as possible – without using special effects. The plane heist and street riot scenes in particular look like they were quite the thrill ride for all concerned.
Tom Hardy is a complete legend and his reaction to seeing Batman for the first time is priceless. Talk about a kid in a candy store.
Next week can’t come soon enough! Tickets to the midnight screening are pinned to the board in the office. And at 2 hours 45 minutes, this film will be epic in more ways than one.
You like this featurette? Are studio films overdoing the promo this year?
Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Nestor Carbonell and Matthew Modine.
The Dark Knight Rises on July 19.
