Cool Stuff: And who says Michael Bay loves to waste money??

Before I post my review of Transformers: Dark of the Moon and be berated by all for liking it, and then see a barrage of abuse hurled at Michael Bay (or ‘the Devil’ as he is more commonly known) for wasting a sum of money that could’ve been used to cure cancer or eliminate world hunger… check this out. On this Transformers outing Mr Bay actually reused footage from one of his old movies, The Island, in order to save money! Ok, that money was probably wasted somewhere else in the bloated monstrosity that is his latest creation but, even still, it’s kinda cool. For some film clashes it really was a case of flipping a coin – a credit to the film fest team for bringing us such an incredible line-up this year. So we’ve narrowed it down to 24. Yep, 24! And if you think that’s bad, you should’ve seen the list we started with. Check out our final picks below. The Wellington line-up isn’t all that different to the Auckland one, which we announced a few weeks back. But the big coup for Wellington is the closing night film, Nicholas Winding Refn’s Drive – starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. Click on any of the film names below to see the session times for Wellington. As with our Auckland post, if the film was listed in more than one section we’ve only added it once in order to...
