Tickets for the Wellington line-up of the New Zealand International Film Festival go on sale tomorrow. Wellington is Admit One‘s home town, so as you can imagine we spent the entire weekend pawing through the programme and selecting the films we just have to see – and review for you guys. With it being Admit One’s first year at the fest, and us still being part-time bloggers (for now), some tough calls had to be made because pesky things like ‘a full-time job’ kept getting in the way – stupid, I know. For some film clashes it really was a case of flipping a coin – a credit to the film fest team for bringing us such an incredible line-up this year.

So we’ve narrowed it down to 24. Yep, 24! And if you think that’s bad, you should’ve seen the list we started with. Check out our final picks below.

The Wellington line-up isn’t all that different to the Auckland one, which we announced a few weeks back. But the big coup for Wellington is the closing night film, Nicholas Winding Refn’s Drive – starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan.

Click on any of the film names below to see the session times for Wellington. As with our Auckland post, if the film was listed in more than one section we’ve only added it once in order to save space – the list of films is massive! We’ve marked the films we are definitely going to see and some others we’d like to, if we can find the time (Dear work, I have come down with a rare case of bigscreenitus. I have been forced by my doctor to take at least two weeks sick leave and perscribed one film every 3 hours until I’m well enough to return. Kind regards, James).

It’s gonna be great! See you in the cinema!

Once you’ve looked through our picks, let us know what you’re going to see (and how many you’re going to see!).
