Just released is the second trailer for Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to the decidedly poor Clash of the Titans. “Prepare for what?” says Perseus in the trailer. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure. But it could hardly be worse than the first outing… right?

The first Wrath of the Titans trailer didn’t do much for me, but this one has somewhat peaked my interest. More action, more carnage and more Titans.

After defeating the Kraken, Perseus (Sam Worthington) must raise his sword and shield once more to fight not one but hundreds of Titans, as Liam Neeson’s God squad loses control of the underworld. The Titans are lead by Kronos: the father of Zeus (Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Hutson).

Alongside the returning cast, Édgar Ramirez, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Toby Kebbell are joining in the fun.

Enjoy!

The Titans all look quite impressive – especially Kronos, who looks completely bad ass – but you can have too much of a good thing. It’s likely many of them will get little screen time, other than adding filler to the plot. I like that they’ve amped up the carnage factor but that could mean this sequel simply becomes a different type of mess. I hope not. I’d really like to see something good come out of this franchise.

So will you be giving this franchise a second chance? Do you like the look of the new Titans?

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus –the demigod son of Zeus–is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares, switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda, Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor, and fallen god Hephaestus, Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Wrath of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston, Édgar Ramirez, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Toby Kebbell.
