I’m really into this Michelle Williams broad. Here she is in a new clip from Sarah Polley’s second film, which finely illustrates why she’s so cool and why we should all watch Take This Waltz.

When Margot (Williams) meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), their chemistry is intense and immediate. But Margot suppresses her sudden attraction: she is happily married to Lou (Seth Rogen), a celebrated cookbook writer. When Margot learns that Daniel lives across the street from them, the certainty about her domestic life shatters. Here is a little shatter:

I love seeing the insides of people’s relationships, the little moments which are way more interesting and telling than what Hollywood has to offer.  Put aside the creep factor of “bad little baby” and this scene is a great mix of warm and sweet, and frankly, sadly honest.  If one scene isn’t enough, have a look at the trailer or earlier clips.

Excited? Bored? Digging Williams and Rogen realistic romance stylings?

When Margot, 28, meets Daniel, their chemistry is intense and immediate. But Margot suppresses her sudden attraction: she is happily married to Lou, a celebrated cookbook writer. When Margot learns that Daniel lives across the street from them, the certainty about her domestic life shatters. She and Daniel steal moments throughout the steaming Toronto summer, their eroticism heightened by their restraint. Margot finally gives in to desire and in doing so, discovers some unsettling truths about herself.

Written and directed by Sarah Polley. Starring Michelle Williams, Seth Rogan, Luke Kirby and Sarah Silverman.

Take This Waltz will be released in Australia on 14 June, but we’ll keep you updated when we get a New Zealand release date.
