“I will finish this thing. You’ll just to have die.” The first trailer for Taken 2 is here and Liam Neeson is putting his particular set of skills to good use once again. For those hoping for something a little different, you’re out of luck. But given how entertaining the original was, you could say that this is one sequel that wisely sticks to what it knows best – and looks all the better for it.

I don’t really need walk you through the plot, because it’s pretty much the same. The setting is different though, with clan Mills on holiday in Turkey. The trailer reveals that it’s the Albanians that are out for revenge after Bryan Mills (Neeson) dismantled their brothers, and sons, in arms in the first film. Cue more kidnappings and badass-ery.

Alongside Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace reprise their roles. And it looks like Neeson and Janssen’s characters are indeed back together again. A great addition to the cast is the fabulous Rade Serbedzija – remember him as Boris ‘The Blade’ Vurinov in Snatch? He will most definitely bring something extra to the chief baddie role.

Enjoy!

Neeson really has reinvented himself as a true action star and looks the business again here. This is ‘Taken 2.0’ in every sense, right down to the phone call. But in this case, that’s not a bad thing. With expectations set, we can just enjoy the ride. This is a sequel worth looking forward to.
