“I know Kung Fu.” In The Matrix, Keanu Reeves gave us some of the most memorable fight scenes in movie history. Now, as director and star of the upcoming Man of Tai Chi, he plans to bring us more eye-popping martial arts action… and he’s using some very cool gadgetry to do it.

The man who played Neo has revealed that his directorial debut film will contain a mouth-watering 18 fight scenes – around 40 minutes of Kung Fu mastery (I can’t wait!). Reeves will also play the villain, in a story of a young martial artist’s experiences in Beijing.

Although little more is known about the film, Reeves has released a ‘proof of concept’ clip showing off the revolutionary technology he’s using to shoot the movie with – a robotic motion control camera system called IRIS, from a company called Bot & Dolly. This is exciting tech for several reasons – most of all because incredible live-action scenes can now be captured without the need for CGI. Take a look:

Currently shooting in China, Man of Tai Chi is due for release in 2013.
