The best Super Bowl Spot so far today is for J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek Into Darkness. It shows once again that this sequel will be darker, more intense and more action packed than the first film. The spot brings some seriously cool new footage to the table; the highlight of which is a severely damaged Enterprise plummeting towards Earth – the poor Enterprise has taken a beating in this franchise re-imagining.
But the identity of Benedict Cumberbatch‘s villain, currently known as John Harrison, is not revealed. Instead Abrams continues to tease us, with Kirk uttering “Who the hell are you?” to Harrison. His response: “I am better… (at what?) …everything”. Sounds like something Khan might say, don’t you think? Check it out…

Does this hit the spot? Further thoughts on Cumberbatch’s villain?
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, the film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Peter Weller, Nolan North, and Bruce Greenwood.
