Universal Pictures have released a teaser poster for the sixth instalment of their Fast & Furious franchise, simply titled Fast & Furious 6, ahead of the teaser trailer screening during this afternoon’s Super Bowl. It’s a nice, simple poster featuring an old school vehicle, the distinctive back of Vin Diesel and the tag line “All Roads Lead To This” – although I have strong feeling this won’t be their last outing.

The film picks up directly after Dom (Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and Co.’s $100 million Rio heist in Fast Five. The crew has scattered across the globe but is brought back together by police enforcer Hobbs (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) who needs help to defeat a criminal driving gang operating around the globe. Their reward? Full pardons so they can “return home and make their families whole again” – aw, bless. However as we found out at the end of the last episode, Dom’s ex-squeeze Letty (Michelle Rodriquez) is still very much alive and is, as it turns out, one of the leaders of the criminal group. It was never going to be simple, now was it?

You keen on another instalment? Five was definitely an improvement, so let’s hope they can build on that.

Here’s the new poster:

Fast & Furious 6 teaser poster

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Fast Five) the film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwanye Johnson, Luke Evans, Michelle Rodriquez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Gina Carano.

Fast & Furious 6 roars into Kiwi cinemas on 30 May 2013.
