Synopsis
Tony is admitted to a rehabilitation center after a serious ski accident. Dependent on the medical staff and pain relievers, she takes time to look back on a turbulent relationship that she experienced with Georgio.
Why did they love each other? Who is this man that she loved so deeply? How did she allow herself to submit to this suffocating and destructive passion? For Tony, a difficult process of healing is in front of her, physical work which may finally set her free…
Thoughts
Fellow critics were quite “ho hum” about this unique relationship drama. Ok, unique might be exaggerating a little, but I admire a film where the lead continues to fall prey to her weaknesses (or in this case weakness) without every having that moment of realisation that what she is doing will ultimately crush her. And that to me was brave and bold, backed up by a ‘best actress’ performance from Emmanuelle Bercot.
