After the success that was The Lion King 3D, Disney are back for more in 2012. Two of the four films being re-released, in the animation-friendly 3D format, are Pixar classics: Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. As with any release, or re-release as the case may be, we get trailers. And first up we have the trailer for Finding Nemo 3D.
Who can forget the adorable tale of Marlin (Albert Brooks), the ultra-timid Clownfish, and his journey to save his captured son Nemo – aside from his friend Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) that is?
About now I would be up in arms about 3D converted films. But my distaste for 3D doesn’t apply to digital animation, where I think it works best – even when it comes to converted footage. Toy Story 3 and The Adventures of Tintin are but two examples of great 3D animated films I’ve seen recently. Plus it will great to see this classic on the big screen again.
Enjoy!
Are you excited about this re-release? Why is it that 3D seems to work better with digital animation than anything else? Which other classic animated films would you like to see in 3D?
Finding Nemo 3D opens in New Zealand on September 13, 2012.
