“I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you.” One of the many great lines from the superb 2008 action-thriller Taken, starring Liam Neeson in the most badass role of his career. The inevitable and imaginatively titled sequel, Taken 2, will be with us this year. But will the hunter now become the hunted?

Plot details are scarce but this poster just released in the UK all but confirms that Neeson’s character, Bryan Mills, will be the target this time around… First they took his daughter. Now they’re coming for him.

A quick check on imdb reveals a synopsis (possibly unofficial) in which Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper he killed while rescuing his daughter. The cast list suggests a Sheik is involved. I wonder if the father in question is related to the sleazebag who purchased his daughter? And who is ‘his wife’? I guess we can assume that Mills is back with Lenore (Famke Janssen). I wonder what happened to poor old Stuart?

We won’t have to wait long to find out – Taken 2 is due to be released in New Zealand on October 18, so expect the promo to come thick and fast shortly.

The main cast from Taken returns for the sequel: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen. However, Olivier Megaton (Colombiana, Transporter 3) takes the helm this time around. Can he deliver an action thriller on a par with Pierre Morel’s original? I really hope so. He’ll have every opportunity, as Luc Besson has returned to write the screenplay and produce.

Are you up for another Taken? Or should they have left it at one?
