The international trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus was released not long after the IMAX and US trailers last month. But for fear of Prometheus overload we held back posting this version until now.

Arguably the pick of the bunch, this trailer brings us more of the initial story and shows us less footage from what appears to be the final third of the film.

This is the trailer New Zealanders will see in cinemas here. So if you haven’t seen it yet… enjoy!

I still get goosebumps watching any of the Prometheus trailers, no matter how many times I see them – although I’ve tried very hard not to watch them too much.

Despite Prometheus looking more and more like an Alien prequel every day, from the interviews he’s given, Ridley has much more up his sleeve that we haven’t seen yet. Hopefully there’s enough departure and surprise to make this a true sci-fi gem, that’s right up there with Alien but stands alone in its own right.

Are you Prometheused out yet? Which of the three trailers do you prefer?

A team of explorers find a clue to the origins of man on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the film’s cast includes: Noomi Repace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Patrick Wilson, Logan Marshall-Green, Rafe Spall, Kate Dickie and Sean Harris. New Zealand’s own Weta Digital is involved with the film’s special effects.

Prometheus is released in New Zealand on 7 June, 2012.
