For hardcore fans of the fantastic Prometheus viral campaign, here we have the video call from Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) to Peter Weyland. This call signifies the beginning of Weyland Industries involvement in the film’s mission – and what leads them to provide the starship Prometheus. As with the other viral, it contains no film footage (especially pleasing for those who’ve had enough already) and continues to focus on the backstory.

The clip also introduces us to ‘Quiet Eye’, a technology that identifies the video caller and analyses the caller’s intention – whether it be honest or otherwise. This technology, like much of the tech outlined on the Weyland Industries website, will probably make an appearance in the actual film.

Although this video may appear slightly underwhelming, particularly after the outstanding Peter Weyland TED Talk and creepy David 8 Commercial, there are a couple of things here to excite fans. Firstly, the technology provider, Yutani. It looks like Weyland Industries was using Yutani technology well before the merger that created the famously evil corporation Weyland-Yutani, from the Alien series. The video also shows just how driven Noomi Repace’s character will be in the film, no doubt to her detriment (and our excitement).

Enjoy!
