SHOPPING……FILM OF THE WEEK
New Zealand | 100 minutes | Drama
Directors: Mark Albiston, Louis Sutherland (debut feature)
Cast: Kevin Paulo, Jacek Koman, Alistair Browning, Julian Dennison, Laura Petersen, Byron Coll, Matthias Luafutu, Richard Whiteside.
Set on the Kapiti Coast in 1981, a chance encounter with a charismatic thief (and his close-knit gang) seduces Soloman’s big brother Willie into a criminal world that provides him with an escape from mounting tension with their belt buckle-wielding father. But Willie quickly finds himself in over his head and when Solomon is left to fend for himself at home, the two worlds collide with shattering consequences.
A terrific tale, packing an emotional punch, from a talented film-making duo – not to mention the superb cast and strikingly authentic 80s art direction. Go see this.

The FF crew is scattered across the globe but is brought back together by police enforcer Hobbs who needs help to defeat a new international criminal driving gang. Their reward? Full pardons so they can “return home and make their family whole again” – aw, bless.
Big, dumb fun – nothing more. But outing number six looks to be the biggest, dumbest, funnest sequel of all.
