“You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be, Clarke. Whoever that man is, he’s gonna change the world.”

The trailers for Man of Steel have been nothing short of sensational – excitement for this Superman reboot is rising faster than a speeding…you know.

Now two new TV spots have been added to the promo stable. With them comes some seriously cool new action shots to drool over, including: Zod’s doomsday ship, the US military’s involvement, and a fired-up Sups looking to kick some ass.

In Zac Snyder‘s re-imagining, we find Clarke Kent (Henry Cavill) struggling with his sense of purpose after growing up as a refugee on Earth. But Superman’s hand is forced when former Krypton strongman, General Zod (Michael Shannon), threatens Earth with destruction if the Man of Steel does not surrender to him.

Man of Steel flys into cinemas 13 June.

TV Spot 3:

The new footage in these spots is brilliant. That shot of Superman falling backwards through space is jaw-dropping.

The third spot is my favourite. It contains some of best scenes with Zod and his weapons of mass destruction so far.

And to think that the action shown to date (in all promo pieces) is but one hundredth of what’s in the film – if studio execs are to be believed.

I can’t wait to see the film now. Please let it live up to its potential.

What do you think of the new spots? What’s your favourite scene?

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue and Dylan Sprayberry.

Man of Steel opens 13 June, 2013.
