Synopsis:

Kris, a headstrong teenager from a rural neighborhood in Houston, is destined to follow her mother to the state penitentiary, until she’s forced to work for her equally willful neighbor, Abe, an aging bullfighter struggling to keep a foothold in the rodeo circuit.

Drawing consolation from an unlikely bond, Kris and Abe both attempt to right their paths, before it’s too late.

Thoughts:

The first hidden gem of Cannes was found on Day Two. This engaging and captivating drama lives and dies on the strength of the characters and lead performances… and BULL hits a home run (for the lack of a bull riding analogy) on both counts.

You may need to hunt this one out… but it’s more than worth your time.
